Senior Technical Program Manager
Full Time
We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager (STPM) in User Terminal (UT) and antenna development, UT and antenna manufacturing and testing, and program management. You will be working in a collaborative environment with a multi-disciplinary team and customers supporting development and productization of various UT products. Additionally, you will be responsible for interfacing with customers and development partners on the technical program management aspects.
As STPM, you will develop SW/HW execution plan with functional engineering leads. You will track and communicate execution status against the plan. When issues arise, you will collaborate with the functional teams to align on problem statement, next steps with owners. You must be fully competent in a variety of project management tools, methodologies and techniques for all phases of the project life-cycle and exhibit demonstrated proficiency in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting and metric development/tracking.
Main Roles & Responsibilities:
- Takes a leadership program management role and owns the successful delivery of products and capabilities to partners and customers.
- Collaborate with engineering leaders to create project plans (concept development to mass production) for antenna and UT development.
- Work with product/program management to ensure that the antenna and UT development meets schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
- Drive engineering project execution, facilitate technical trade-offs, track and report on status, and resolve blocking issues.
- Collaborate with architecture, hardware, software, teams on ensuring cross-functional deliverables are identified and tracked.
- Coordinate with vendors, distributors, and contract manufacturers to procure parts and track deliveries.
- Coordinate with internal engineering teams and external development partners on cross-functional collaboration and integration.
- Host and arrange logistics for multi-party technical and business events, including program kickoff meetings, design reviews, FAT, etc.
- Report technical risks and issues in narrative format (with data) so that the reports can be consumed by the business and technical teams.
- Proactive engagement with internal and external customer development teams
- Create and maintain management weekly reports and dashboards
- Assist in focusing internal and external engineering efforts across the organization
- Ensure delivered work meets technical, functional, performance, regulatory and business requirements
- Support in-field test and validation of various UT systems
- Assist/Support field issues including travel to customer sites if needed
- Manage and organize documents library, including specification requirements, design packages, meeting minutes, etc.
- Expect up to 15% of travel depending on the phases of the projects
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in ME/EE/CSE, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of project/program management and/or functional management experience.
- 7+ years in SW/HW development environment with at least 5 recent years in architectural/system role
- 7+ years’ experience in managing complex telecom and/or satellite communication systems
- 5+ years’ experience in managing complex product(s) development from concept to production
- Ability to lead, manage and mentor a team and align with company objectives
- Experience with schedule tracking tools such as MS Project, SharePoint, Confluence, and Jira.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Master Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
- Antenna and/or RF design experiences
- Familiar with satellite communication theory
- Familiar with phased array technologies and implementations
- Satellite over-the-air Communication field-trial (Alpha and Beta) experience
- Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs, and identify opportunities
Pay Transparency
The estimated salary range for this role is $160,000 - $190,000. Actual pay will vary based on varying factors, including but not limited to relevant experience.
