Electrical Engineer
Full Time
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the implementation of electrical subsystems and modules for the SatCom user terminals under guidance from the senior system and electrical engineers. The design works include power supplies, GNSS modules, network exchange modules, etc. An ideal candidate should have strong mathematical and engineering education background and exceptional motivation to challenge steep learning curves. This engineering role should also have hands-on experience in lab testing and debugging. This role should have proven experience in documenting lab notes, data, and reports.
Basic Job Description:
This role will create and review the hardware design documents, including block diagram, schematics, BOM, etc. This role has ownership of designing hardware and circuitry per module or system requirements. Conduct simulations for signal and power integrity. This role will work will work with team members to manage BOM components and work with procurement team on purchasing the required components. This role requires the skill of writing test procedures and test plans and performing Design Verification Test tasks. Strong communication and collaboration skills are needed to work with various suppliers and Contract Manufacturers Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) tasks.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist in design, implementing, and testing power supply modules for SatCom user terminals
- Assist in design, implementing, and testing GNSS receiver module to meet the high-level product requirements in SatCom systems.
- Support the development of electrical architecture with general devices like micro-controller, CPLD, and FPGA in the antenna control unit of SatCom User Terminals (UTs)Test
- Validate prototypes and products to ensure designs meet operational and functional requirements.
- Document design, test, debug, and validation details in technical development cycles.
- Support other team members and customers to perform integration and test campaign in the component-, module- and system-level validations.
Required Qualification:
- BSEE or MSEE and minimum of four (4) years of related work experience
- Strong knowledge of microelectronics, electrical power systems, and circuit theories
- High-speed multi-gigabit digital system design experience
- Experience with general lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, function generators, multimeters, etc.
- Experience with schematic and PC layout tools
- Experience with simulation and modeling tools, including PSPICE and signal integrity tools
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Strong knowledge of various protocols, including Ethernet, SPI, LVDS, RS232, etc.
- Strong knowledge of general power supply components
- Experience in FPGA design and microprocessors is a plus
- Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate ideas with engineers, vendors, and customers.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, coupled with well-focused details.
Pay Transparency
The estimated salary range for this role is $115,000 - $125,000. Actual pay will vary based on varying factors, including but not limited to relevant experience.
