Prime Purpose

As a Digital Engineer, you will support projects and tasks related to the digital design & development of the next-generation satellite user terminals based on active phased array technology, both the software and interface with hardware, from concept, design, implementation, to testing & validation.

Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Assist senior engineers in defining, designing & developing software and firmware of phased-array antenna subsystems, embedded processors, and FPGAs for SatCom user terminals.
  • Perform microprocessor system bring-up, debug, and validation of designs to achieve functional and performance goals.
  • Construct prototype systems using COTS development kits and Intellian developed test modules
  • Create/optimize real-time algorithm for beamforming operations on various antenna subsystem architectures with considerations for memories, I/O Pads, clocks.
  • Create comprehensive verification/test plans Tests and validates to ensure designs meet operational and functional requirements.
  • Document design, test, debug and validation details in development cycles.
  • Verify test plans and test software in Python or other high-level languages for verification of antenna and user terminal operations.
  • Develop test automation platform for production lines and support troubleshoots remotely and/or on site.
  • Work with other team members and customers to perform integration and testing.

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • BSECE/BSEE/BSCE/BSCS (or related) with 2+ years of related industry experience or MSECE/MSEE/MSCE/MSCS (or related)
  • Familiar with Python, Matlab, and other high-level languages for modeling and test automation
  • Familiar with C/C++/Verilog coding/debugging
  • Familiar with Linux commands and development environment
  • Proficient in software & FPGAs development hand-on experience in the platform/tools such as Xilinx
  • (Vivado/Vitis) and/or Intel (Quartus, Platform Designer/Qsys) environment.
  • Familiar with test equipment like oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc.
  • Familiar with various standard interfaces/protocols such as Ethernet, USB, UART, SPI, I2C, etc.

 

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience with design and implementation of real-time software/firmware for antenna
  • tracking and digital communications
  • Experience with signal processing blocks such as filters, synchronization, estimators, and modulators/demodulators
  • Knowledge of microwave, active phased array or other types of antennas
  • Experience in development test software, automation, manufacturing, or embedded electronics
  • Experience of PCB layout
  • Knowledge of microprocessor system BSP, U-boot/Linux customization
  • Experience with Agile software methodologies (e.g. Kanban, Scrum) and associated tools (e.g. Jira)
  • Experience with version control system such as git, svn, clearcase
  • Knowledge of digital wireless communication systems
  • Knowledge of phased array antenna principles
  • Knowledge of satellite communication systems

Pay Transparency

The estimated salary range for this role is $90,000 - $95,000.

Actual pay will vary based on varying factors, including but not limited to relevant experience.
