ARC-M4 Block 1

Simultaneous X/Ka Band Wideband VSAT System with 3-axis precision positioner and a 1.3m Reflector

The Intellian ARC-M4 Block 1 is the first tri-band antenna that provides simultaneous X and MIL Ka-band service which ensures connectivity on WGS even during bad weather and when other band-specific interference occurs.

ARC-M4 Block 1
Key Features

MEO/LEO/HEO tracking capability

The mechanical design and center feed design enables tracking capabilities across all satellite orbital patterns. ARC-M4 Block 1 is currently approved for use on WGS, Inmarsat I5 (Cat IV) and mPOWER. Intellian is also currently pursing additional type approvals across LEO, MEO, GEO, and HEO orbits.

Electronic band switching

ARC-M4 Block 1 enables full electronic switching across commercial Ka-band, military Ka-band, and X-band services. The changes occur electronically and eliminate the need for manual manipulation of terminal hardware. Block 1 supports simultaneous operation in both X and Kaband when interoperating with Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) services. This capability greatly enhances resiliency and throughput.

Designed for Resilience

Agile Resilient Communications (ARC) delivering Multi-role, Multi-mission, Multi-band, and Multi-orbit solutions to the Warfighter. Simply stated, the ARC-M4 Block 1 delivers resiliency through options: options across service providers, options across frequency bands, and options across satellite orbit ‒ all in a single terminal. ARC-M4 Block represents a “Swiss army knife” of capabilities that can be relied upon should a network service, frequency band, or satellite orbit be compromised; additionally, Block 1 enables obscuration tactics that can be employed to re-route data across various communication paths.

Open and modular for large-scale operations

This system supports single-, dual-, triple- or even up to eight terminal installations. Additionally, the Shipboard blockage zones, sea state conditions or other conditions are dealt with automatically through Intellian Intelligent Mediator IM8-T2. Leveraging open standards, such as OpenAMIP and OpenBMIP, the IM8 T2 can accommodate up to 8 modems and up to 8 antennas with the ability to bridge connections and data routes.
The terminal can be flexibly installed utilizing coaxial cable or fibre optic cable (between the below deck and above deck equipment).
